Our Dad

Well Dad, what can we say Outnumbered by women every day You weren’t prepared for the female invasion But what fun we’ve had on every occasion So many great memories of fun trips abroad Wherever we went the red wine was poured With singing and dancing & many a bar crawl The karaoke was blasting ‘til we were ready to fall Friday night curry, Picton / Fidler tradition We knew it would end with a country roads rendition With Mike on guitar and you on the bongos Come on everyone you know how the song goes! Many a Saturday afternoon in front of the telly Shouting ‘come on Wales, give it some welly’ You loved your welsh rugby and fun trips away With Dai and the lads, a weekend of play When the rugby was off the remote you’d still hold With the planner jam packed with UK Gold The Sweeney music blaring we will never forget With Minder & Heartbeat, the schedule was set Sunday there was only one place to be At the bar in the golf club with a pint or three At last some male company where the banter would flow Your curfew was four and then Mum would show We used to say ‘Dad we’ve heard these jokes before’ What we’d give now to hear them once more In Leo & ‘your girls’ your memory will live on We’ll make you proud and try to stay strong We love you more than words can say And will miss you more each and every day So for now until we meet again one day Let’s have ‘One for the strasa’ as you’d always say
